LEVEL's “Garden”: Created for Open Air Celebrations, Paid For in the Neighbors' Sleep

LEVEL describes each of its four spaces in a single line. The Lounge: “Designed for cozy gatherings.” The Gala: “Crafted for grand events.” The Glass Room: “Created for your small celebrations.” And the Garden: “Created for open air celebrations,” 3,800 square feet, up to 340 guests.

Three of those spaces have walls and a roof. One does not. Guess where the DJ keeps ending up.

Open air is a two-way street

An open-air space is lovely for the guests inside it. It is also, by definition, open to everything around it. The Garden backs onto a residential alley. Sound from a DJ or a live singer out there travels straight across to the apartment buildings behind it.

Open air, for the neighbors, means open windows becoming useless and a party in every bedroom on the block.

Cocktails, yes. Speakers, no.

Nobody on our side of the alley objects to guests having drinks outside, eating dinner under the sky, or talking on the patio. Conversation does not shake windows. Amplified music does.

LEVEL has three enclosed rooms with sound systems. The Garden can have the cocktail hour. The music belongs inside.
