LEVEL Venue Reviews: What the Neighbors Behind 9320 W Pico Blvd Want You to Know

Search for LEVEL Venue and you will find photos of white florals, glowing ballrooms and the phrase “the new standard for luxury events on Pico Blvd.” What you will not find on LEVEL's own pages is the review written by the people who live directly behind it.

This is that review. We are the residents of the apartment buildings across the alley from 9320 W Pico Blvd. We have never paid LEVEL a cent. We attend most of its parties anyway.

The rooms are beautiful. The patio is the problem.

By LEVEL's own numbers, the venue has roughly 9,700 square feet of indoor space: the Lounge, the Gala and the Glass Room, with air conditioning and what LEVEL calls “crystal-clear sound.” It also has an open-air patio that backs onto a residential alley.

Evening after evening, LEVEL puts the DJs, the live singers and the speakers on that patio. The music does not stay there. It comes through our walls and closed windows, into living rooms and children's bedrooms, on school nights and on Sundays.

Service, as experienced from across the alley

A neighbor walked over during an event and spoke to the organizer in person. He was brushed off. LAPD has been called to the venue repeatedly. Residents report the same pattern every time: the volume drops while officers are on site, and it climbs right back up after they leave.

LEVEL advertises “impeccable service.” We can only review the service we have received: none.

Our rating

Architecture: lovely. Indoor ballrooms: plentiful. Respect for the families who live thirty seconds' walk behind the building: zero stars.

If you are planning a wedding, a gala or a Bar Mitzvah at LEVEL, ask one question before you sign: where will my DJ be set up? If the answer is the patio, you now know who else will be at your party.
